Restorative #blogjune


Today was great. A normal day in a way, but the kind of day I really needed. After being away for the past two weekends and then 3 days in Sydney/Bowral, I didn’t realise how much I needed just a wonderful Canberra winter day. So it was off to the gym in the morning for a much needed Body Balance class. Just great. Some lovely stretches and standing poses. I really enjoyed the session.
Then after a ‘Carl coffee’ it was off to Tidbinbilla for a walk around. The sky is huge in Canberra and the blue sky and the clouds just amazing.
After a couple of walks – brolgas, koalas, wallabies, and a range of birds (no platypus!), we drove to Carl’s mum. Fortuitous visit as we were just after a cuppa, but Margaret had a cake in the oven that smelled just delicious.
Then home to unwind, and cook ginger/honey chicken wings, coleslaw with red cabbage (the only coleslaw in my opinion) and spicy couscous.
Sometimes you just need the everyday, the slight ache in your legs from a good walk and a tingle in your face from the sun and the wind.
So forgive for the short post, but I’m off for a glass of wine and poached pears – red wine, star anise, cinnamon and vanilla bean.
