Wednesday on Thursday

17Jun10

Yes, running late, but really been flat out and when I have thought about blogging – no wifi. I confess I could have tried harder. Anyway- to catch up – a series of short (cheater?) posts….
On Tuesday evening we (my work group) had a quick meal in Flemington and then went our separate ways. We had been talking and sitting all day.
A group of us – five – got back to the apartment in the city and decided to see the lights of Vivid.
What I only realised after is that we only saw one part of the Vivid lights – Macquarie Vision. I will include a dreadful photo at the end – dreadful because it’s taken on my mobile and awful quality but I completely forgot to take my camera…gggrrrr. If you go to the link there are some fab photos of the different buildings along Macquarie St that were lit up for exhibition of light to commemorate the 200th anniversary of Governor Lachlan Macquarie and his wife Elizabeth. The music was wonderful  – Peter Sculthorpe – mainly didgeridoo and cello. We found out that the music was played using Elizabeth Macquarie’s cello – how cool!

St Mary’s Cathedral lit up – what a wonderful canvas for lights and colour and words – posting the photo deliberately small…

Take a look at the gallery Macquarie Vision for really fab photos – then you’ll know what I’m talking about.
